HISTORY

On November 23 2014, a young autistic man Aaron Freeman was making a short movie with some of his friends with his iPhone, whih would later becamone the pilot of Superlonnys. It was during editing the pilot that Freeman invented the studio and its icon with just Microsoft Paint. Adding a gasp sound effect accompying an eye suddenly opening wide.

Freeman became inspired in movie making via smartphone, when watching a clip from the BBC show 'Click', where Spencer Kelly and some of his colleagues made a short film 'Arrival' with just an iPhone 4s and it's various attachments and apps. Freeman is hoping to have Smartphone movie making a regular thing in the filmmaking community in future.

TRADEMARK

The studios top traditional trademark is to make their films using ONLY a mobile device, weather it be iPhones or iPads, with its various attachments, (Owle Bubo or iOgrapher) and the many Movie FX apps (Super Power FX, Action Movie FX, FxGuru, Green Screen Movie FX and many more).

Then come along post production, they are allow to edit their movies with a system of their own choice. iMovie (on the mobile device) or any other editing software (on the PC).

FILMING

For the first few of his projects, Freeman filmed his movies with just his iPhone 4s. Upon starting the 3rd Superlonnys episode, he started using his 'Owle Bubo', an iPhone 4 Solid Aluminium Stability mount to reduce hand Jitter, giving Freeman the ability to film more stable shots.

For all the Visual FX shots, he used apps like 'Super Power FX', Action Movie FX', 'FxGuru' and many more.

During filming, due to the iPhone taking a vast amount of the videos GB, whenever it runs low on battery, Freeman would place the phone in a Charging case and carry on filming.

One of the occurring issues during filming is the audio/volume is low, due to the iPhone being notoriously bad at capturing audio, along with some wind issues and some of the actors not speaking up. Although Freeman is considering using an 'iRig Mic' a microphone for the iPhone, to capture better audio/sound distance.

UPGRADES

Two years later, while filming the upcoming Superlonnys (Episode I), Freeman purchased an iPhone 6s and tested it out in filming the recent Superlonnys promo (Promo E) with the final result, including high clear video quality.

On July 17th 2018, Freeman upgraded the studios ident, using his live-streams 'I2I' opening track (Composed with GarageBand) after the usual gasp. The new music track is meant to give the viewer a 'Shits about to go down vibe'. The ident was first used in the short comedy 'Pitch Drink'.

MUSIC

In the studios first three years of activity, they'ed always use royalty free music tracks from 'YouTube Audio Library' for their projects, from Kevin Macleod and Jingle Punks to name a few. But in June 2017, Freeman attempted to create an original score for his funny sketch 'Scared to Death', using the music making app, GarageBand.

A year later, Freeman once again composed original music tracks/ditties for the pilot of iFe & Friends, which he claims is influenced from music ditties from his favourite show from childhood 'Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends'. Following it's release, Freeman started composing music for future projects, starting with Moodz A Swinging.
